I watch a lot of different types of racing (cars and bikes) and I'm curious about what makes you fast. How much is it the equipment, the skills and mental ability?

If Lorenzo was riding the Ducati, would he still be winning? What has happened with Stoner...is it really the bike?

Lorenzo just rode away from Rossi today. Did Rossi get the setup wrong? I'm assuming the bikes are the same in every other way.

At the level these guys are at, is it really the 6 inches between their ears that separates 1st place from 8th place?

I think equipment being equal, sometimes you just don't 'have it' and other times you do. I can be on it at work or quite lazy. It depends on factors I can't predict or control. It just happens. It must happen to them too.

So, you're saying that Hayden has no balls?

I understand that you have to be fearless (look at Stoner, he's not afraid to wreck), but that alone won't make you fast and a winner.

The ability to open the trottle earlier and to apply the brakes later. Ducati needs to pick up the K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid) system look what it did for Yamaha. When Burgess came into the Yamaha camp he welded things together and removed all of the engineers things and found out what was going on and now they dominate Moto gp.
