Damn Chris! Some really nice mods listed. My project this winter is to save like no other before our second child comes and buy baby furniture and whole ton of senseless stuff I hate to think about! Now doesn't that sound like fun?
So what are you guys planning to do this winter to your bikes?
Since the Q was asked I will dive in and start!
After the bike gets back from the shop I am going to strip her down and powder coat the frame. I am still in the process of figuring out what color, either the factory red or maybe white. The 999's have a problem with the fairings rubbing the paint off where the tabs are and when you get close you can see a few spots where it is raw.
While the bike is apart Matt is going to have some fun installing the Ohlins SBK kit (Ohlins 03200-27) in the forks. At the same time a rear linkage, ride height rod and Ohlins triple adjustable shock (DU3011) will be valved and installed. There are the 749R parts and aftermarket shock.
I think it is time to bite the bullet and get some carbon wheels since everyone says they are the best upgrade possible for this or any bike.
Also while putting the bike back together I think it is time to let this engine breath so I am looking for an EVO CF airbox. Hopefully the dyno will show another 7-8 HP.
Last but not least is finishing out the Nemesis system. The dash and 02 self mapping system will be this year. The dash bring a whole set of problems with the relay system since all of the lights are controlled in the stock dash.
To go with the dash, if I have space to mount it is a DashDAQ. Not only do these give you all kinds of data like 0-60 times but it is also a Linux computer and I can control the Nemesis system with it.
OK, the real last thing is installing the Brembo RCS brake and cluch levers that have been sitting in my garage for the last year. I am two fluid tanks away!

If everything goes right Matt will get my motor for a little love??? New powder on the wheels and frame-swingarm. Going to wrap the entire body-work with vinyl to do something crazy with it. Im still trying to design something for it. I need to find another set of body work so I can wrap 2 sets with different designs. I do custom wraps on cars for a living if you were wandering. So if your company needs to rebrand their logo I can hook you up. lol
Yeah Ryan I know how you feel. Both of my boys were born really close together and I had a couple years without toys. It seemed like diapers and formula were thousands. Angie keeps talking about trying to have a girl. If that happens I will have to put the mods list on hold for two years.
Saving for my Wedding in April... and saving for a full Termi kit!

You think that it is over after they are over 2 years old... Let me tell you a secret - it just gets worse, the need for money (and time) is proportional to their age.![]()
I finally got the Brembo RCS Masters installed.
I may have out done myself this time. After a quick (and near freezing) ride around the block in the rain the brake feels like it might be a little too much. I start losing speed before the switch even activates the brake light.
I was thinking about getting a set of Braketech CMC rotors to shave off a couple of pounds but there is no way, the brakes would turn into an on / off switch, stop or go.
Thats very cool stuff. Brakes are kinda like horse power you cant really have too much????

I finally got a chance to get up to speed and play with the settings and the brakes are fine now. They are still a bit stronger than they were before (less lever travel for an equal amount of stopping power).
I have scraped together enough to get the forks and shock done!
My winter project is going to be making some changes to the geometry of my 1098 by adding a different triple (thinking 30mm). I am really happy with the way the bike handles on flowing tracks, but am hoping a geometry change will help make the bike a bit more flickable on technical tracks. Hopefully I will have a chance to do some winter trackdays down in Jennings to complete the development of the bike before the midwest race/trackday season starts.
I am also planning on spending some time customizing the trailer I just bought over the winter with some cabinets, stickers, etc.
